The International Academy for Dental Facial Esthetics is primarily a networking organization whose mission is to foster interdisciplinary relationships and cooperative education in the area of facial esthetics. IADFE Fellows are encouraged to develop networking relationships for improved clinical efficacy, educational opportunities, effective patient referral, product development and manufacturing, media presence, and enhanced interdisciplinary relationships.

The IADFE includes among its Fellowship many outstanding individuals of the various associated professions and fields who have a desire to create new bridges whereby the esthetic patient can be better and more knowledgeably served. Fellows include dentists (clinical and academic), laboratory technicians, physicians (primarily plastic surgeons and dermatologists), media professionals (publishers, editors and writers), corporate authorities (manufacturing and sales), service specialists (business development, safety and security), inventors and entrepreneurs. The Fellowship criteria are life achievements in clinical practice, academic or continuing education, and/or a significant contribution to the profession. The parameters are outlined in the Application Form at https://iadfe.org/application-for-fellowship.php.

All IADFE disbursements are directed towards annual Meeting expenses at the GNYDM and the Spring Meeting. The IADFE requires significant contributions of time and effort from its members to operate. All the necessary organizational work and office support is provided by volunteer Fellows and their office staffs. The individuals who contribute to the continued operations of the IADFE are designated the Regents.
